Seattle native Margo Spellman is an abstract artist and entrepreneur. Rooted in the pioneer tradition of the Northwest and the story-telling culture of Irish ancestors who built railroads, re-plumbed a city and led a state, TOday in santa fe, new mexico, Margo leads Studio Spellman, a communications studio producing compelling original content and offering strategic guidance.

Prior to launching Studio Spellman in 2014, Margo collaborated with her sister Kat for a decade at The Spellman Company, a full-service lifestyle marketing and public relations firm. Together they represented an impressive array of Seattle notables.
Before taking the plunge into the private sector, Margo was Marketing Director of Pacific Northwest Ballet where she helped launch PNB in Europe at the Edinburgh Festival. Other career highlights include serving as the first Marketing Director for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Assistant Director of Public Affairs for the Port of Seattle, Director of Services for the 13th International Cancer Congress, and Development Manager for the University of Washington.
Margo has hired and trained hundreds of employees, located and managed agencies and consultants across the world, conducted business in 30 countries, served as an organizational spokesperson, and dealt with an impressive array of crises ranging from box office flops to major layoffs.
With a BA in English and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington, Margo has been trained as a facilitator, mediator and change agent. Her volunteer activities include serving on the advisory board of Whim W’Him, Seattle’s hottest contemporary dance company, providing pro-bono services to local arts organizations, and teaching abstract art to grade school students.
Margo is an artist who has shown her work throughout the Northwest and in New York. She is married to Bryan Tagas, a former banking executive,blogger and publisher of Eldorado living magazine in santa fe.
